RELEASE AND REJUVENATE
How to recognize, understand, and transform compassion fatigue through The Way of the Horse
With Kathleen Barry Ingram,M.A. and Susan Dees, Psy.D.
“Compassion Fatigue is a condition of the mind and body- or the “body’s mind”- that is the result of unconsciously absorbing and internalizing the Energy in Motion of others that can lead to distraction, sensitivity, overload and misperception in communication and relationships with self and others.” Karl D. LaRowe, MA,LCSW
This workshop is for all health care professionals, care givers and those who give too much.
Susan Dees, Psy. D and Kathleen Barry Ingram, M.A. will assist workshop participants in understanding their own energy fields, sharpening their intuitive skills, balancing body and mind and becoming emotional congruent through engagement with horses and daily Qi Gong exercises
Why this workshop?
Our experience has shown us that many counselors and health care workers are not consciously aware of their boundaries and energy fields, and therefore do not know how to protect and to rejuvenate their fields on a daily basis. With our combined experience as counselors and energy workers we will take each individual through their own personal journey and assist them in moving from a surviving mode of awareness to a thriving experience with themselves and their clients.
Linda Kohanov, owner and founder of Epona Equestrian Services and author of The Tao of Equus says, “Horses are social creatures who readily and honestly respond to challenges inherent in forming and sustaining relationships. As animals that are preyed upon in nature, they have also retained a highly developed ability to sense changes in the stance and arousal levels of other herd members, an ability they easily transfer to interactions with human beings. Horses see through the slightest incongruities of emotion and intention, yet they are exceedingly patient and forgiving.” We will work with our horse “therapists” to help participants increase awareness of personal issues, areas of bodily tension and core issues, which inhibit them from being their best.
Chi Kung (Qi Gong) is a self-healing art that combines movement and meditation. Visualizations are employed to enhance the mind-body connection and assist healing.
Regular practice of Qi Gong can: 1. Prevent and treat illness, 2. Reduce stress 3.Establish balance and 4. Integrate mind/body/spirit and bring lasting peace.
